11 Months old

Lola is 11 months old! I just can't believe it... We have been again away from the blogger world due to a lot of busyness going on. My mom went to Alaska for 2 weeks so we kept her fort down! It was a nice little get away from reality but it was a bit crazy at times. We had to water once a day (my mom owns her little own green house fully equipped with tomatoes, jalapenos, bell peppers, herbs, and flowers beyond flowers!) Then we had to take the dog on a walk once to twice a day, check the mail, clean the house and much more. I will just say I was worn plum out. In the middle of all this, I had several orders to complete, a baby shower, and dessert club. I will just say there are permanent tire marks from Des Arc to Cabot. We are now back to reality and getting ready to pack up and leave for Colorado on the 31st.

I have a new nephew, Logan Davis Bell. He is my brother and sister in laws first little boy! They are so proud! I wish them the best!! Here is the little bundle of joy!

And here is the video of Lola walking! I just love it... She is getting so much better at the whole walking task and it is a whole new adventure for me and for her! ha

Here are a few projects that I have done! If you like them you should check out my blog or facebook page! The Sassy Polkadot and see all the new things!!!

I can.....

My baby is growing... I say this all the time but it is just going by so quickly... In the past week Lola has learned so many new things... She can walk, climb up and over anything and she is into everything. I am so thankful to have her in my life. She has honestly been such a added blessing and she is what keeps me going on some days. With all the being said she is sooo strong willed and so independent it blows my mind. I was strong willed as a child (I don't think I have grown out of it) and I think I am getting pay back. Her are a few snap shots of all the things she can do. She can walk but my video was sideways so I will post it later.

She can go up stairs faster than most adults

She can pull out all the wipes for you. Even when she doesn't need a diaper change!

She would rather play in the walked on the floor than sit in it and walk.. Whatever works RIGHT!

She can climb in and...

She can get stuck!

Story of the year!

Well, I want to start off with a little scream followed by a little stomp of my feet... That is how I feel as well as felt for a week now... I don't want to sound crazy although I feel that way here lately. Its been one thing after the next, read on and you will see what I am talking about!

So the STORY OF THE YEAR starts like this:

It was Thursday morning Lola woke up with goop in her eye. Not a big deal I thought, we all get "sleep" in our eyes at times... As she was a little fussy I didn't think anything out of the normal. We went to lunch with my in-laws, it kept getting worse. The redness continued and the goop was getting green. I asked for their advise and they just thought it was ok.. I had even heard of people getting "colds" in their eyes...So I didn't worry about it but as the day kept on passing the eye kept on getting worse (have I mentioned we are headed to Fayetteville to visit my sister and niece.) So I just call the doctor and I don't know why I said call the doctor because I have yet to talk to a doctor in all the times I have called.. So let me rephrase that I called the nurse and she called in a prescription that was probably the most expensive junk on the shelf...

I have only been to Fayetteville a few times and it was to see a game and drive right back home so my map quest instinks of that city are limited... I finally find the walgreens (thanks to my handy new phone) and get there to find that I don't have my insurance card...REALLY! Not a big deal I'll just pay for it. She advised me to get the number off the card if I could, so I dialed Ryan's number thinking it would just be a short phone call and I would be out of there with some drugs to help my little baby. Well that wasn't as easy as I thought... he would be on one of the farms that gets NO or LITTLE reception. He answers with a loud and out of breath "HELLO." I proceeded to ask him for the insurance card and well he couldn't hear me, so I kept repeating it to him and finally he made what I was saying out and well guess what, the card is in his wallet that was in his truck... If you can only imagine how I am feeling now.. I just told him to call me back... As it felt like a year later, because people are staring at me and the sweet tech is trying to be paitent with me, he calls and I get the number. She types it in and gives me my co-pay total of $35. I honestly didn't think anything of it until I got to the car to put the drop in Lola's eye.. The bottle way the tinest thing I have seen and I paid $35 for that?? oh but the good news is it cost $100.00 before insurance. So I was very thankful for insurance at this point and a sweet lady who was so paitent with me.

The Night went on, visited with my sister and had a pretty enjoyable night... UNTIL I didn't sleep well due to Lola crying a lot. She was so fussy that my mom was "Shushing" her on several occassions... I was so imbarrassed, but after I figured out she didn't even know she was doing it I felt better! haha Got to love grandparents!

Friday we got up and my neice joined us for the day. I don't like to stay in one spot and a hotel room just is a little to small to entertain two toddles, so my mom and I were going to go shopping.. ARE WE OUT OF OUR MINDS??? Two babies, two car seats, two of everything.. It took us forever getting in and out of places. I felt like we were on an assembly line, you do this while I do that, you do that while I do this... and passing the girls around was very comical! We went to pick up lunch at this neat little bread shop and as we are trying to get out of the door to leave, my mom gets stuck, yes she gets stuck in the doorway of the bread shop, why you might ask, because she had Hannah (my neice) on one hip with a diaper bag, she had the carseat on the other hip with her purse and a drink in that hand. Why couldn't I help? I was holding the door with a carset and diaper bag in one hand and the take out with a cup in the other hand. People are offering to help us but heck we have it now IF we make it to the car... OH we did no doubt but Hannah was half way down my moms leg and a couple drinks were about to drop. We get in the car and my mom and I look at each other and take DEEP breaths.. and added a little laughter to that!!!

Oh it gets better so stay with me!

We pick my sister up and head out to do a little shopping! Retail thearphy works right??? We shop a little and Lola is so cranky I just have to leave and do my own thing... We go into a couple of shops to then look down and find Lola has lost a shoe.. COME ON NOW LOST A SHOE??? We put down our items at one store to go back on the chase for this missing shoe... Can't find it... But it was my favorite pair of shoes... ok so its lost...

That night: AWESOME dinner cooked by my brother in law... Hannah opens her birthday gifts and then Lola has an explosion in her diaper so bad she needs a bath. So I put her in the bath, and Hannah wants in so we put the girls in the bath for their "1st official bath time together" awww how sweet till the unthinkable happens... YES POOP starts floating in the bath tub.. I am squeeling and my sister is yelling who is it???!!!! "It's Hannah" I yelled, so we snatch the girls up and start cleaning the tub.. I am cleaning it, mom has Lola and Serena is getting Hannah all cleaned up and scooping poo out of the tub. Then my mom starts laughing and saying "oh my goodness Lola is peeing in the sink." Okay not a big deal I'll just clean the sink while I am at it... We then put the girls in the tub for a cute photo opportunity and well Hannah had a blast and well Lola didn't... She whined and fussed the whole time... I am beginning to wonder if she is going to be that party pooper. Get to the hotel and AHHHH bed time!

We sleep well and get ready for breakfast and get the car packed. It took us forever!!! We head to meet my sister for breakfast and this interesting place... It was a bar/24 Waffle house type place.. My brother in law sugguestion was they probably get drunk pass out and when they wake up eat breakfast and go home. If you are a drinking person that is the place to go... It was good food I do have to admit, but a little different for a Saturday morning breakfast. We head out for a little shopping with a cranky child(mine) and then head home that afternoon... Thank you Serena for everything!

I got a little car sick on the way home so we decided to stay at my moms for the night. Well Lola gets the stomach bug. I felt so bad for her as I helplessly watched her throw up. I thought it was something she had eaten until Monday when my mom got it, Tuesday when Ryan got it, Wednesday when my sister in law and I both got it. Lola has been so cranky and I can't keep a smile on her face... She wants to be held the entire time and that is so hard when you have things to do... I am a little, well I am totally exhausted and I have been house sitting for my mom so I don't have help... We go home sometime today and I am ready to pass stinker britches to her daddy!

We did have some good moments in there... Like the 4th of July and seeing my sisters cute little home and some neat shopping places! I hope we can go back for a visit and enjoy everyone with out someone crying the whole time!

Independence Day 2010

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
by Francis Scott Key 1814

I will have to say that this was one of my favorite holidays. Although there are no gifts to exchange or a big preparation involved I just love the 4th! I am so thankful I am able to have the freedom that I have. Because of some courageous people that battle everyday I am a free woman. It brings tears to my eyes to think that I graduated with people who fight for me, I went to college with friends who died for me, and I live everyday with the ability to live in my country with out fear and with freedom. This is also a holiday that goes beyond the battle field, it is a holiday to be thankful for a Savior who died so I can have freedom from the sin that so easily entangles me from day to day, so I can run with perseverance, the race marked out for me. This year we were able to celebrate with Lola. From the tasty hot dogs and hamburgers (in which I don't like) to the fresh fruit and homemade ice cream I look forward to this day every year, oh and add the fireworks in there too! We all had a blast and as you can see Lola enjoyed them too!

God Bless America!

Time out for a snack!
